How to Play
You pick one of ~174 real nations and lead it. The goal is to reach #1 in the world by 2050 — top the eight power rankings and you earn the title "The First Power". (The game is called The Regime; The First Power is the top spot you’re aiming for.) The 2025 demo gives you 12 years to play.
The fun is in how everything connects. Raise taxes and the treasury fills, but business cools on you and growth slows. Grow too strong and the neighbours get nervous and band together to check you. Politics, economy, military and diplomacy all feed into each other, quarter by quarter.
You don’t need to memorize any of it. Whenever you’re unsure, just ask the AI Chief of Staff — it reads your nation as it stands and points you to what to do next. Browse the systems below to see how each one works, and the advice will click into place.
